Austin's is a great restaurant. The prime rib is delicious. I have yet to be disappointed. I would recommend Austin's to anyone. |

Austin's tortilla soup is almost as good as the real McCoy served at the Neiman Marcuses in Texas, although it's not always available. The Caesar salads come with real anchovies on request. Friendly service. |

I think very highly of this restaurant. Their soups are delicious and so is their other food. The prices are a little high, sometimes, but I'd rather pay more for good food than less for bad food. I'd recommend Austin's to anyone. |

I'm quite confused with some of the reviews...they seem very slanderous, as if written by the owner of a competitor. Their ribs are in fact the best around (although recently in the area Smokey Bones has given them a run for their money), and truly are pretty famous. As for the "chain atmosphere" refered to earlier, well, their are 4 or 5 establishments I believe, so in a way it is becoming a chain. Crab cakes are amazing...etc, very professional waitstaff...thankfully. Cold robots? I don't wish for a waiter or waitress's life story, nor much conversation, that is what the people I come with are for I believe. Very good overall. |

I disagree with the previous reviews. I have eaten at Austins many times, and have loved it each time. I've never gotten sick and the service has been just right. I love the fact that I don't have a waitress at my table every 5 minutes. You have time to talk and enjoy your meal. I always go here for Valentine's day or other holidays. Wonderful crabcakes! |

I had the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant at Austin's. First of all, why would I go and pay expensive prices only to have wound up sick from the food. Its funny because I mentioned this to several friends who all said they became ill from the same dish. Second, I left a very important calendar book there and when I called the next day the manager was extremely rude and said that the "Night Cleaning Crew" must have thrown it away. They didn't even want to try to find it. NEVER AGAIN!! |

Not an excellent place in my opinion and I better see this posted. Where is the owner when you need him or them. I fell in the dining room the first time I visited there and the second time the food made me ill. I had the house specialty. RIBS......I thought I was to "expect excellence" NEVER AGAIN!! |

Frankly, I didn't care for the selection on the menu. When I did decide on the salad with grilled chicken, I received a salad.. no chicken. Since the servers are seemly too good to wait on you, I never had an oppurtunity to let anyone know about the mistake. This resturant is trying too hard to become something it is not. |

Austin's is an awesome restaurant! In terms of atmosphere, the high ceilings and acousics efface the noise, even when it's very crowded. They have a wide variety of veggie and m & p kind of repasts. AND their food is consistently delectable. Finally, their prices are reasonable and service friendly and efficient. |

Contrary to previuos review, SERVICE is the best in the area, perhaps efficient to a fault. Management practices on the other hand could use rethinking. Food is fantastic. |

We greatly enjoy dining at Austin's as a family of four because we can always count on having a wonderful, consistant well prepared meal. The service on the other hand is something like playing a game of chance. Sometimes you get the best waitstaff and others the worst. Unfortunately, tonight was the worse and the restaurant was empty because of thunderstorms, so being busy certainly wasn't an excuse. If you are made to feel as if they are doing you a favor by serving you, there's a problem. |

Austin's is tough to beat! Yesterday I had the best cajun salmon ever. Try the Potato soup and the Tortilla soup when they have it. The Texas Burger is great. The service is usually good. Also try the Chicken Tenders! They have yet to spoil my Stoli Martini!! |

First of all, with regard to the reviews suggesting that Austin's is the "best" restaurant in Berks County, those reviewers should try eating at a few more establishments (in Berks and/or elsewhere in order to be able to better critic Austin's or any other restaurant for that matter). With that in mind, my review of Austin's is actually quite positive. They have great burgers and side dishes (especially the french fries) and, believe it or not, they have great crab cakes. In fact, I have never had a bad meal there. Service, however, is hit or miss with regard to the attitude of the waitstaff(and the wait staff seems a bit stiff (i.e., at best they are indifferent and at worst they are not too friendly). Perhaps, the word "fake" better describes the wait staff (and hostess(es)). Usually, the service is prompt. |

I have eaten here many times and most of the time the service is good. There have been occations where our server may have been slighty lacking... but I guess I can be more forgiving when I actually like the place and the food. I like the vibe of this place, not too fancy but not like the Applebee's ,TGIF,etc, places with junk all over the walls. Definetely the best spinach artichoke dip around and a couple of decent brews on tap win my vote. |

Austin's is by far the best casual/upscale restaurant in the county. Where can you go besides a fine dining restaurant & get the service that Austin's has every time that you go there? Their food is great & there is always a server there to take care of any need that you may have. Their ribs are "fall off the bone" tender & their Spinach Dip is the best. If you want to take the family or a special date, Austin's is the place to be. Great atmosphere & reasonable prices. |

As you are probably well aware, the restaurant situation in Berks is very dynamic. New restaurants open and old restaurants close on a regular basis. We need your help keeping this restaurant listing up to date. If you know of a new restaurant that isn't on our list, or a listed restaurant that has closed, we would appreciate it if you would let us know. Thanks!! |
