Panda Heaven is a good Chinese Restaurant, but probably the Worst Japanese restaurant I have ever visited. They cannot prepare Japanese food in a timely manner due to lack of a Japanese food chef, which is surpsing considering it was early on a monday night. And the sushi chef certainly cannot do the cooking because of the demand for sushi. Although, I have been to this restaurant a few times, I cannot go back because the service was so poor during my last visit and the waitresses and managers did nothing to remedy the situation. I do not recommend this restaurant if you want just average japanese cuisine, do yourself a favor and put a tv dinner in the oven...Or drive to Philadelphia. |

Excellent. Very neat atmosphere. Had the california roll, out of this world and the soft shell crabs in a black bean sauce. WOW, I am still thinking about how excellent it was. |

I have to agree with what everyone has been saying about this place, good stuff. My wife is Japanese so she is particular about the cuisine, she gives it the thumbs up too(even though she said the rice should have been better quality). Many many menu selections at a variety of price ranges, huge portions(except the rice), very fast service and a nice(but loud)atmosphere. We will be back. |

Looks bother with those 3 (out of 5) marketing reports below, here's the scoop as I see it. On my one visit this weekend, the food and service were quite good - certainly good enough to warrent a second visit. They really don't give you enough rice at all, which seems odd to me. The atmosphere is great, but not the least bit relaxing(and probably not intended to be so). In fact the regular tables and chairs were rather awkward. The menu has a lot of variety, as well as a wide range of prices. If you're on a budget, you can find something good here. If you're celebrating and willing to splurge, you can find it here as well. Either way, it's worth a try. |

The food was excellent! I have eaten there 3 times and loved everything! I've sat at both the hibachi and regular tables and the service was terrific. This is definitely the "place to be" in Berks county! |

Excellent. Sushi is good quality and reasonably priced. Sesame chicken is great, but it seems like I always run out of rice before I run out of chicken. Atmosphere is pretty sterile, but you get your choice among table service, sushi bar, or the entertaining hibachi/teppanyaki grill. |

We just ate here (July 2004) for the fist time, and were impressed. Nice atmosphere and EXCELLENT sushi. The chefs were brand new, and - so we heard - not as good as the regular chef, but still very very good. The owners make the rounds frequently to make sure everything is to the customers' liking. And the final bill was a pleasant surprise. |

We discovered Panda Heaven through a friend and have driven to Allentown when we were in the mood for hibachi food or Sushi in the past. Since our visit to Panda Heaven we were totally, totally, surprised that the food was incredible beyond belief. We both had the sushi and thought it was incredible. As for the hibachi grill, totally awesome experience with the food and the actual preparation by the chef was nice entertainment. Obviously, we will no longer be traveling to Allentown for sushi as we have found a new jewel in Reading. Try it you'll LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! |

As you are probably well aware, the restaurant situation in Berks is very dynamic. New restaurants open and old restaurants close on a regular basis. We need your help keeping this restaurant listing up to date. If you know of a new restaurant that isn't on our list, or a listed restaurant that has closed, we would appreciate it if you would let us know. Thanks!! |
